Africa 2015

The September 2015 Africa trip was amazing and we all made numerous memories to cherish for a lifetime.

In Lake Manyara we watched elephants weave amongst our safari vehicles, so close you could have reached out and pet them.

On the way to the Kati Kati tented camp in the Serengeti we stopped at a Maasai village, did a little shopping and jumped with the male and female members of the tribe. On the plains for only a few minutes we encountered a mother lion with her two plump fuzzy cubs. This was to be one of our best experiences in the Serengeti with truly amazing moments, listening to lions at night and then happening upon them the next morning with an actual elephant kill, a cheetah and her two cubs, hippos walking and relaxing beside their pools countless wildebeest, impala, giraffes, gazelle, storks, and we were chased by a rhino female as she protected her baby!

In the Ngorongoro crater we were fortunate enough to see 2 rhinos, lions take down a large buffalo, more zebras, migrating wildebeest, eagles, kori bustards, secretary birds, serval cats, and more of the usual suspects!

After safari we flew to the island of Zanzibar, known as the spice island and birth place of Freddie Mercury from the rock band Queen. Diving off the East coast of the island was absolutely stunning. We saw dolphins, grouper, Spanish dancers, oriental sweet lips, lion fish (native to the island), wrasse, turtles, rays, a ton of macro life, and a myriad of colorful hard and soft corals.

We also enjoyed shopping trips into Stone Town, massages and treatments in the extravagant spa, local nightlife, amazing meals, and walks down the beach. One of our favorite things about Zanzibar is the lack of people and remote feel. It truly is still very much unexplored and untouched without losing the luxury.

Paul and I (Kristen) truly strive to provide a quality trip with unique experiences. After living in East Africa for over 10 years and falling in love with it, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to share it with those interested in experiencing something truly special. Please contact us about group or individual trips and we will be happy to help.
